Translate a Vietnamese video into English subtitles
A Vietnamese video with no English subtitles only reaches people who already speak Vietnamese. This takes the file and returns an English subtitle track timed to the speech.
Translation happens after the timing is fixed, which is why the subtitles stay in sync.

What happens to your video
- Upload the file or paste a public link. Phone footage (HEVC/MOV) is read as it comes off the phone.
- The audio is transcribed first, with word-level timing, so every cue starts where speech starts.
- Each line is translated on its own. Timecodes are copied through and never rewritten.
- Download the SRT, or a copy of the video with the subtitles burned in at the original resolution.
Notes on the audio
- Vietnamese has six tones. Drop or shift a tone mark and it is a different word, which is where recognition goes wrong most often.
- The romanised script carries diacritics throughout. Export has to be UTF-8 or the whole file turns to garbage.
- Vietnamese lines hold few characters but the diacritics take width, so the layout looks fuller than the character count suggests.

Questions
Does it need subtitles to already exist?
No. It listens to the audio and builds the English lines from scratch, so a Vietnamese video with no captions works the same way.
Will the English lines land in the right place?
Yes. The timing is derived from the Vietnamese audio before any translation happens, so the cues do not shift afterwards.
Can I edit the result?
Yes. The SRT is plain text; open it in any editor and fix names or terms by hand.
